BOOK OF ABSTRACTS

The book of abstracts will include the abstracts of all communications (lectures, oral presentations, posters) and will be distributed to the registrants at the beginning of Congresses. All contributers are therefore invited to send an abstract.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Please note that the abstract will not be accepted unless the presenting author is registered. You will only be given a confirmation after completing your registration. Please preserve it until the congress. Please read the “ Instruction for Authors” below for submission guidelines. In the event you can not submit your abstract online, please contact the Organizing Secretariat by email: iums2008@topkon.com

- Oral Presentations:
Some abstracts submitted will be selected for oral presentation in the symposia. They will be assigned to a symposium.

- Poster Presentations:
Abstracts scheduled for poster presentations will be grouped by topic and a timetable for setting up and taking down posters will be included in the final programme. One of the authors must be present at the poster presentation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Note that abstracts can not be submitted by fax or post. Authors will be guided automatically through the system when submitting the abstract. Please note that the Programme Committee reserves the right to select and the finalize the entire programme.

Abstracts should be submitted in English.

Clearly specify which congress you register to: “BAM” for Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology, “M” for Mycology or “V” for Virology. Choose a topic in the preliminary programme of the congress you wish to submit an abstract for.
Topics available for presentation are: the plenary sessions topics of each specific congress and the symposia topics.
•For plenary sessions: only poster presentation.
•For symposia: oral or poster presentation.
•Topics are identifiable by a number composed of BP, MP, VP for plenary sessions or BS, MS, VS for symposia, and the number attributed in the preliminary programme.
Example: for the BAM Congress, “Cellular Microbiology” is identifiable by BS10.
•Please choose a second topic your abstract could fit in and indicate it in brackets. If your subject is not related to none of the topics, please mark the " Others ".

NOTIFICATION FOR ABSTRACT STATUS
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed for their possible acceptance. Some selected abstracts will be invited to be presented as oral communications. The preference of oral and poster presentation should be indicated by applicants on the abstract submission form. The final decision on the format of presentation , however will be made by the Programme Committee and authors will informed about their presentation type after May 15, 2008.

PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT
Data projector and computer, computers for Powerpoint presentations will be avaliable in each meeting room.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Poster sizes should not exceed 70 cm. wide and 90 cm. height. A poster number will be assigned to each abstract which will be announced to the first author along with the day of presentation. Presenters are responsible for setting and removing the posters.
